In previous posts I’d brag about how I was a 20 or 30 something traveling, wanderlust-crazed, yoga loving, health nut, searching for something more in life. Today, I edit that, because, up until this year, I knew I was “lost” and confused with what I wanted, where I felt I belonged and what to do for work. I struggled to be OK with that. One day I was happy that I created this “travel” lifestyle and the next I was crying because I was unbalanced or wondering where to move to next. On top of that, which I haven’t talked much about before, I battle what I have called chronic fatigue (among other health issues). June 2015 officially marks the start of the best years of my life. I’ll always be a student of life, but I’ve finally found peace of mind with myself and accepted where I am. I may always battle my health issues, but I am on the path to wellness and actually never felt healthier or happier! Every person I meet has a purpose in my life and sometimes I can’t believe how lucky I am that as my life aligns to where it’s supposed to be, more shining light keep entering! I hope to document and share my experiences the best I can, with intention that I may inform and possibly inspire everyone (and myself) with what I’ve learned along the way!
Background: I’m the oldest of five very different girls and have loving, hardworking parents. After my Bachelors, I worked retail for what seemed like decades, with big dreams of escaping. I had no clue what I wanted, but knew I was unhappy and unhealthy. In January, 2011, I quit my job and took charge. I turned a vacation to Puerto Rico into my home for two winters, which jump-started a new life of traveling and finding work wherever I landed. I didn’t know the extent of my wanderlust until I finally took a leap of faith in the right direction.
I’m originally from Long Island, NY, but have lived in Puerto Rico, the Hamptons, NY and West Palm Beach, FL. I’ve traveled all over The States, S.E. Asia and now currently residing back on Long Island, studying to be a yoga teacher.
Moving and traveling has already taught me so much about myself (and others) and I can’t wait to see where life takes me. Here are my thoughts, reviews and adventures on my journey through my twenties and now thirties… Comments welcome. Read me, critique me, inspire me.
